HydrePure
Mother Nature's Delivery System Platform

Oleosomes are naturally occurring spherical structures that have the ability to act as Mother Nature’s delivery systems for oil-soluble actives. Botaneco has successfully loaded a variety of actives, including essential oils, fragrances, vitamins and sunscreens, and we call this new technology platform HydrePure. Possible applications for an Oleosome delivery system include the protection of actives from degradation, the release of actives over time for enhanced performance, and prolonging the presence of fragrances on the skin or hair.

Our first launch based on the HydrePure delivery technology is HydrePure Retinol. Retinol, a natural form of vitamin A, has been used as a leading anti-aging active in the personal care industry for over a decade, however, is well documented to have stability concerns as well as can cause irritation on the skin. HydrePure Retinol solves these problems in the following two ways

1) Retinol is encapsulated for natural protection – HydrePure Retinol consists of 4.5 - 5% retinol loaded inside Oleosomes, all-natural 1-3 micron spheres of emollient oils and anti-oxidant vitamin E found naturally in plant seeds. This patented technology serves as the ideal structures for the protection and stabilization of fragile actives like retinol.

2) Proven stability of Retinol with less irritation potential – HydrePure Retinol is proven to be more stable than pure retinol alone, in room temperature and accelerated aging studies (conducted at 45 degrees C). Further, it is believed that HydrePure Retinol can reduced the irritation potential caused by Retinol, due to the delayed release of retinol on the skin, in the presence of the rest of the contents of Oleosomes – i.e. emollient plant oils and vitamin E.
